Doug and I spent New Year’s Eve and most of New Year’s Day talking about the next phase of our travels. Our first discussions centered around WHAT we wanted to do, and WHERE we wanted to do those things: camping, hiking, photographing, writing. We also talked about ways to enhance our social life. We discussed whether or not to buy a trailer (small a-frame type), a van, a truck, etc. Parts of the discussion went on for days. We have now decided to buy a truck with a canopy so we can go off-road to some of the slot canyons and other places, spend the night and be up for sunrise without having to set up camping equipment. At this point we are going to continue to live in our tent rather than purchase some kind of trailer. We are going to increase our comfort and the “hominess” of our tent ~ I just ordered a raised aerobed with headboard:
We’ll be leaving Seattle mid-March to housesit for our friend, Grace, in Bishop CA. She has 6 llamas, 8 geese, 8 chickens and 4 cats…they’ll keep us busy for the 3 weeks we’re there. Then we’ll head to Utah and meet up with our friends Linda, Z and Emma. That will be fun!!!
We love having company (and have a nice 3-person tent we use for guests), so join us! Let us know where and when you’d like to meet up and we’ll plan it!
